Newline have a booking app to take photos, videos and record lot information on your Android or Apple mobile phone and auto import into NAS to create lots. This has been merged into our Auctionmarts app which provides additional features for the above and the ability to view sales and bid on sales within the app. This app will be on the app stores in the next couple of months but in the meantime can be obtained by asking Newline support to email a download link to you. The auction will need to setup an online sale that allows authorised users to create lots using the Auctionmarts app. See sale setup instructions below.
If you are using the booking in app please get in touch with Newline to replace it with the Auctionmarts app. There are many fixes and more features available to you in this app.
There have been changes in the sale setup wizard to provide extra options for booking in lots from the Auctionmarts mobile app.
Private sale invite keeps the sale private and allows the auctioneer to arrange the sale and lot catalogue as they want, double check all is in order before allowing the general public to view the online catalogue. The only issue with this is no advance advert is visible for the sale. The update below addresses this short fall. You can still have a private sale linked to the lots for just the auctioneer to see but have a place holder advert attached so the public can see details of the upcoming sale without seeing the online catalogue until the auctioneer is ready to make this public.
Shows a place holder advert for a private sale. When private sale is unticked, the advert is replaced by the full sale and online catalogue.
This page enables auctioneers to control the users and times that people with the app can book lots in.
Initially in this release we suggest the default Auctioneers only is used.
The default setting is for only members of the auctioneer firm to be able to book lots into NAS from the app.
The booking in types are explained below.
This is the default setting and only allows auction staff setup in the Online Sale Editor Auction Staff Group in NAS to create lots in the app.
Auctioneers and members of booking in users can enter lots via the app.
Anyone approved to buy with the auctioneer can also book in lots.
This booking in type allows auctioneers and private invited members to use the app to enter lots.
Only privately invited members will be able to view the sale in the create lot sale list. Auctioneers will not see this sale list unless they are explicitly added as a private member for this booking in type.
The sale will not be visible in the app sale list when the user clicks create lot. Therefore no user can booking into this sale. This is an intentional setting if the auctioneer does not wish to take entries from the mobile app.
The sale can still be viewed under auctions on the app if Show Place Holder Advert is ticked and the sale is private.
The Booking In Type choices are linked to user groups set up in the privacy settings within the Online Sale Editor (OSE).
A start and end date for allowing bookings via the app can be set for users other than the auctioneers, to enable the auctioneer to retain control of when the sale is visible in the app for lot entry. If ignore for auctioneers is ticked auction staff can still use the app outside of this time to add lots.
When we progress to letting sellers use the app if the auctioneer gives them permission they will have to accept your seller T&Cs. These are setup in the same place as your buyer T&Cs and selected when you setup a sale.
You will need an Auctionmarts account, permission from the auctioneer granted within NAS as noted above and the app. The app will eventually be available on app stores but currently you need to be sent an email link by Newline support team.
There is a Block Booking In column in the Online Buyers Registration screen. If particular sellers are to be blocked from create lots for your sales on the app you can tick and save block booking in, and they will not see your auction company in the sale list when clicking on create lot in the app.
Install the app on your mobile phone. A link to download the app can be obtained from Newline support team. Log into the app using your Auctionmarts username and password.
Click the Auctions icon and view all the sales listed on Auctionmarts.com. You can then browse and leave bids in the normal way you would do in an internet browser from the app.
To enter lots on your phone click Create Lot and select the sale you want to book the lot into from the list of sales currently available to post lots for. If there is 4G or wi-fi these lots will be sent to the auction server for processing in NAS. On clicking save you are prompted to add more or to finish.
There are options in the configuration in the three horizontal lines at the top right of the lot screen.
Click view lots to select a sale and then see the lots in that sale.
